Lizzie’s Pantry is closing

It is with an extremely sad heart that I let you know Lizzie’s Pantry will be closing. I’ve worked with Liz for over 2 years and she will be dearly missed at the market. This will probably be the last week that Lizzie’s Pantry will be listed. If you need grains, spices, olive oil, oats/cereals, flax seeds, pancake mixes, grits, containers, apple cider vinegar, natural sweeteners, baking mixes, and flours please order this weekend.

Due to many of their suppliers increasing their minimum orders and the increased shipping costs, they just can’t afford to re-order and carry large inventory levels.

Liz and I work really well together and we plan to hopefully co-ordinate some group buys so we can get some of these items back on the market. They just won’t be offered weekly any longer.

For those who have visited Lizzie’s Pantry, you know it is a cute little country store with plenty of parking and is adjacent to the Braselton City Park. It’s also a prime location for people to visit during the semi-annual festivals and other events the City holds. So if you have been looking for a location for your business, they would love to talk with you. Their rent is less than half of what the City charges for its spaces and the space is move in ready. Please give Liz a call or let people know who are looking. Liz would appreciate any help she can receive in finding a tenant for the building. The Landlord is very easy to work with and is allowing her to sub-let.

This really makes me sad but it is another example of why we should support and buy from local businesses!

I know you all will join me in wishing Liz much success in her future endeavors!

Republican Valley Produce:  The market is open

The market is open. We are in the final month of our winter season, before we start tearing things out and start replanting tomatoes, lettuce, kale and spinach.

We are getting ready to start seeds this week, a little behind, but that is ok. We built a new seedling room in our basement. It is going to be nice to have everything in one place.

Please place your orders before Saturday at 10pm. We will deliver to Clay Center on Tuesday and deliveries will be made to the Manhattan Market on February 12th or you can order next week.

Thanks,

Jay

Market News

The Cumming Harvest is open for orders!

Five Hens Farm has bratwurst, while supplies last! A great addition to the grill for Super Bowl weekend!

Shady Acres, is back with eggs this week. Non-GMO and soy free feed for their pastured chickens.

Great Lakes Collagen I’ve placed an order for the Beef Hydrosolate (non gelatin) powder, should be in this week.

Raw cheese from Meadow Valley Farm, you can find them on the website under “Dairy/Cheese”.

Good Shepherd Herbals has brought us some bottles of her wonderful Elderberry Syrup. It’s great for treating colds and flu, plus my kids (11 and 14) love it. Made from organic elderberries in a vegetable glycerin base. Elderberries have antiviral and immune stimulating properties. The berries are quite high in procyanidins (phytochemicals having antioxidant capabilities). No refrigeration is necessary.

Southern Essentials brought in some new bars of soap last week and he’s listed several on the website. All of their soaps are handmade using natural oils and no animal products. Each listing details the ingredients in the description.
