Daniel Peppers and SpiceWELCOME NEW GROWER — Naturally grown chili peppers using only living soil and organic fertalizers.

Windy Bluff FarmWELCOME NEW GROWER
we are a small family operated dairy farm located on a bluff on 30 acres overlooking the Cumberland River in Trousdale County in Middle Tennessee.
We sell our 100% all natural artisan goat milk soap, other natural products & hand crafted goods. Our all natural farm products are made from 100% all natural, wild crafted and simple ingredients. Windy Bluff Farms all natural artisan goat milk soap is approved by a licensed esthetician.
In season we offer some of our ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf goats from heavy milking and showing lines for sale that we have not retained. Our goats are managed as naturally as possible and free range on untreated pasture, during the day, under careful watch of our two livestock guardian dogs. At Windy Bluff Farm all of our Nigerian Dwarf Goats are Dam raised and handled multiple times a day. Our goal is to breed and raise quality goats that exceed in health, conformation, milking abilities and friendliness; whether you are wanting to show, have a few backyard milkers, start a small herd or just have a few pet companion goats.
Sarabeth who is the Owner and Manager of Windy Bluff Farm and Windy Bluff Dairy Goats has her Bachelors of Science in Animal Science, Livestock reproduction & genetics, biology, chemistry, managing livestock, forage crops and Pre-Vet Studies from Middle Tennessee State University.

Linwood Lamb:
We are getting a lot of positive comments on our feta cheese and spinach lamb sliders. They come in packs of 6 patties, are great on the grill and are quick and easy to prepare. Give them a try this week.

From last week blog, a reminder the weather is warming up and so are our grills. Try some lamb on the grill for 4th of July celebration or anytime this summer. All the cuts listed under Linwood Lamb work great on the grill:
Lamb Loin Chops
Lamb Rib Chops
Lamb Leg Steaks
Feta Cheese and Lamb Sliders (My girls really like these)
Ground Lamb

If you need recipes or tips on how to cook, just ask.

As a general rule, we grill all of our lamb to a 135-140 degree F internal temperature. The thinner cuts only take 6 or 8 minutes to grill.
For the thicker cuts (rib and loin chops) I split the grill in half and put all of the charcoal on one side (hot side; direct cooking) and leave the other side empty (cool side; indirect cooking). I sear the chops on the hot side for 1 min then flip them and sear the other side of the chop for 1 minute. Then I move the chops to the cool side of the grill and let them cook indirectly with the top down for another 8-10 minutes until the temperature reaches 135. Seasonings are pretty simple: salt and pepper, and maybe a little ginger.

Calico Farms:
Introducing our new organic medium habanero salsa. Made with tomatoes from Servant Farms in Watertown and habaneros, because customers were asking for a spicier one and, as you know, we do what we do for YOU! All the flavor of our mild with a lot more kick, substituting habaneros for jalapenos. No sugar added, just natural sweetness from red bell peppers. Canned in 16 oz jars. Grab one & spice up this Taco Tuesday.

Also new this week are our organic dairy-free s’mores cookies – the perfect treat for summer…or anytime. Rich, dark chocolate chips by Pascha & Dandie’s vegan vanilla marshmallows will have your taste buds dancing. The coconut sugar is a lower glycemic sweetener that gives the “graham cracker” taste we crave in this cookie. Sold in 6-packs & ready to “add to cart”!

Triple LLL Farm: Several GREAT June Specials still available.

Terry Treasures:
Welcome back, she will be have some beautiful outdoor Spinners that can be used inside our outside. Watch for her updates.

Backyard Tailz:
We custom wild bird seed blends and hand crafts fresh seed wreaths and seed cakes weekly. They also have wild bird seed ornaments that are pre-strung and ready for immediate hanging. They make wonderful gifts and will make your backyard the most popular bird hangout in the neighborhood.

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
